What is Nano brows?

Nano brows is a technique done with a single need and a cosmetic tattoo machine to achieve a dimensional hair stroke look. Our studio as a whole as artists have transitioned from “micro blading,” to nano to provide the best and most up to date technique for our clients. This is a safer method, and better suited for most skin types. This is especially better for more mature skin, as well as melanated skin. This implants pigment into the skin, instead of cutting it into the skin therefore it is more tolerated, and heals better and more predictable. Reach out to us with any questions! Email us pics if you’re ready to upgrade your micro blading to nano!

DO I NEED A CONSULTATION?

We only require a consultation ahead of time if you have previously had microblading or any other permanent brow cosmetic done, and typically we can do that through clear photos and email! If you’d prefer to come in person to meet with your artist we have that option for you too. Consultations are $50 and bookable online. It is a prepay appointment and non refundable. We can’t wait to work with you!

How long does it last?

The longevity of your cosmetic tattoo procedure depends on a few things. Aftercare is key, and needs to be followed diligently for best results. Other factors would be skin type, lifestyle, and pigment choice. Clients who have a more oily complexion may need touch ups sooner than a client who is normal to dry. Once healed, it is recommended to keep SPF on the eyebrows to protect them from fading in the sun. One would also want to avoid any skin care products that peel the skin in the eyebrow area. Darker pigment choices take longer to fade than lighter pigments as well. Upon completion of your first appointments, touch ups can be expected anywhere from one to three years depending on the individual, with eighteen months being the average for our clients.

Does it hurt?

We build enough time into your appointment to allow for a topical anesthetic to sit for twenty minutes. Halfway through your procedure, a liquid numb is also applied to alleviate any further discomfort. We take all necessary steps to make your appointment as pain free as possible.

Do I need a patch test before I have this procedure done?

A patch test is not required, however if you have known allergies or feel you need to make sure you are not allergic to the pigment used for a permanent cosmetic procedure, we will provide you with a small amount of ink to take to your allergist for testing. We do not perform the test in the studio.

CAN I TAN PRIOR TO MY APPOINTMENT?

Avoid sun/ tanning bed exposure for 30 days BEFORE and AFTER your procedure. If you show up for your appointment with a new tan or a sunburn, you will need to reschedule as your skin is compromised and won’t heal well. As your skin exfoliates from a sunburn, it will take the cosmetic pigment with it. In general, tanning and sun exposure will also cause your cosmetic tattoo to fade and shift color prematurely. Protect your eyebrows year round!

How long do the appointments take?

Your first brow appointment will be scheduled for 2.5-3 hours. A large portion of that appointment is your consultation and us designing the right eyebrow specifically for you. We strive to incorporate as much of your natural eyebrows as possible for a dimensional look. We also allow 20 minutes to numb before we start your procedure. Your touch up appointment will be scheduled for an hour and a half to allow for numbing, assess your healed result, and to finish your eyebrows.

WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENCES IN BROW SERVICES?

Do you offer training?

I do not offer training. I have invested into being the best artist I can be. I believe in proper apprenticeships as you cannot learn enough in even a week long training to be left to your own devices with permanent cosmetics. Cosmetic tattooing should be treated the same as body tattooing if not even more vetted considering its a permanent face tattoo. I feel a moral responsibility to potential clients, so much that I will not charge people for trainings since you can’t learn enough without shadowing for months. This industry is always changing and progressing, and I work hard to stay focused on being the best permanent makeup artist for my clients. I apprentice individuals willing to work hard and put time in.

HOW WILL MY BROWS LOOK THE DAY AFTER MY APPOINTMENT? CAN I GO TO WORK THE NEXT DAY?

For the first couple days your brows will appear darker and bolder, but any redness from the procedure should dissipate within the first day. Most people have no problem going right back to work the next day.

HOW LONG DO I NEED TO WAIT BEFORE I CAN WORKOUT OR GO SWIMMING?

For the first two weeks you will need to avoid getting your brows wet. This means no soaking your face in the tub, allowing the shower to spray directly in your face, swimming, hot tubs, or excessive workouts. After the first two weeks you can return to your normal workout routine.
